Project to implement cloud-based SaaS system for third party risk management

Achievements and Scope of work delivered:

  • multiyear release planning regarding timeline and scope together with the product owner
  • continuously aligning all configuration, customization and development needs with the system delivery partner
  • managing all IT internal workstreams necessary to integrate and roll out into the existing application and security landscape
  • regularly aligning with internal IT management regarding the new technology and change approval processes

Program to implement a cloud-based Life Health Underwriting, Claims and Policy Administration system

Achievements and Scope of work delivered:
  • successfully managed multiple legacy workstreams in parallel to integrate existing key components into the target landscape.
  • delivered large data volume ETL tool leading a virtually distributed (South Africa, Latvia), agile project team.
  • gained business sign-off to implement the worldwide business reporting solution using Azure Data Lake after conducting a PoC.
  • successfully delivered the foundation to select best fit partners for the multi-year implementation based on multiple Requests for Proposal (RfP) processes.
  • provided professional PMO service to the program manager to keep program`s subprojects under control

Program to implement a Reinsurance Administration System for P/C and Finance

Achievements and Scope of work delivered:
  • managed initial pre-study phase (prior to Fit-Gap) achieving the necessary information to shape subproject structure and ramp-up the full project team structure.
  • successfully migrated entire P/C dataset from (distributed) legacy systems to the target SAP FS-RI landscape managing large, heterogeneous vendor teams
  • delivered data reconciliation information (evidence) at Cut-Over managing the team to compare balance sheets from legacy systems to Closing information based on the target system landscape.
  • provided full test management service including test case definition and execution at multiple test runs and Cut-Over.

Interim Head of IT Project Management Office

Achievements and Scope of work delivered:
  • led the IT project management office team of 3 employees ad interim
  • analysed and took over existing processes of multi-project planning and project management.
  • introduced JIRA Big Picture and JIRA Kanban as project management tool for both agile and traditional projects integrating the resource staffing module.
  • provided tool and methodology training to all project managers.
  • conducted a feasibility study verifying whether the IT project portfolio planned is doable/non-viable with respect to resources available and interdependencies.
  • convinced the IT senior management of the need for annual project portfolio re-planning based on accurate resource information.
  • kicked off (all) IT projects operating on new methodology and tool.

Post-Merger Integration

Achievements and Scope of work delivered:
  • conducted multiple post-merger projects to identify staff and business overlap in order to integrate professionally
  • ran recurring staff-overlap and reduction planning covering ~1000 FTE on behalf of the Executive Board
  • managed multiple projects to integrate reinsurance business in the overlapping P&C lines of business
  • reduced operating expenses substantially
